“ We were in York for work with our little one (13 month old) and happened to walk by this place. The decor is what brought us in, and the food and service made us stay! The staff were incredibly friendly, not only with us but also with the little one. The food was delicious throughout. The hummus could be better but still a 3/5 on its own. The lentil soup was great on a cold night which paired beautifully with the flatbread. The tea was delicious at the end. Did I mention the decor is phenomenal!? All handmade directly from Morocco! Anyone looking for a nice hot meal on a cold day in York - check out this place! Cesar and Felix were great hosts as was the bartender. 10/10! ”

“ We had an absolutely amazing experience here on the evening of June 6th. We walked in at 21:25, just five minutes before the kitchen was due to close, but despite the late hour, the staff welcomed us warmly and without hesitation. After a long journey, all six of us — including two very hungry little kids — were so grateful for their kindness and hospitality. They not only kept the kitchen open for us, but immediately brought out some snacks, especially for the children, while we looked through the menu. It made a huge difference. The way they spoiled our little ones and made sure we were comfortable and well looked after was truly touching. It’s rare to see such genuine care and attention, especially for families with young children — and it meant so much to us. A special mention must go to the manager who looked after us that night. Their professionalism, warmth, and attentiveness made us feel like we had just walked into a friend’s home. That level of hospitality is something we’ll never forget. If we’re ever back in York, we’ll definitely return. If not, we’ll still 100% recommend this place to everyone. Thank you for turning a late-night meal into such a memorable experience! ”
